Cancer of Cheek / Buccal Mucosa
Oral Cancer of Cheek [Buccal Mucosa]
Oral Cancer - Cheek [Buccal Mucosa] buccal mucosa carcinoma should be widely excised. Radial forearm free flap is the best option for the lining of the buccal mucosa. It prevents trismus even after radiation therapy.
Oral Cancer - Buccal mucosa with Gingivo buccal Sulcus [GBS]
Classical GBS malignancy with no erosion or very early erosion of mandible will require WME of lesion along with marginal mandibulectomy radial forearm free flap is used for the lining and obturation of the mandibular defect.
Oral Cancer - Buccal mucosa with Gingivo Buccal Sulcus [ GBS ] with mandible Gross erosion of mandible can be managed by the segmental mandibulectomy. Neck dissection is chosen. Free fibular flap is the option of reconstruction.
Oral cancer- Buccal mucosa, GBS with mandible
Gross involvement of mandible like parasymphysis, body, angle, and ramus will require classical hemimandibulectomy with disarticulation; free fibular osteomyocutaneous flap is the material of choice for the functional & cosmetic reconstruction.
